Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.
- George Bernard Shaw
I am a twenty-something woman devoted to living a life less ordinary. I live in the best place on earth – New York City. I am an entrepreneur and run e-commerce apparel and monogrammed home decor businesses. I enjoy filling my life with new people, experiences and challenges. I love fashion, cooking, entertaining, business, interior design and traveling.
I insist on having candy dishes in every room, wearing mascara to spin class and hosting elaborate picnics in Central Park. I’m not happy unless I’m learning something, Giada DeLaurentiis and I are best friends (in my mind), and I intensely believe that no room is complete without a Diptyque candle. My favorite place in the world is my rooftop on the Upper Westside, although I didn’t hate my time in the Cote D’Azur and Paris. I develop crushes on tablescapes, have a serious passion for cooking and will travel anywhere that large jewelry is permitted at breakfast (see my time spent in Capri).
I am not an icon, but I learn and draw inspiration from those who have made their lives and themselves iconic. This blog explores not only people, but also businesses, fashion, travel, music, and films. Anyone can lead a life filled with enrichment, glamour and style.
I’m not the first to start a blog, and I certainly will not be the last. Long ago I stumbled across the concept of the “Art of Living”. This epiphany lead me to realize that there is no greater canvas to create a true masterpiece than oneself. It was at that point I began to take conscious steps and make strategic decisions to make living my life an art. I devote this blog to be a continual illustration of this concept.
Through this pursuit I have found it essential to consult others who have lead inspiring lives. With all of the laziness and ignorance that is glamorized and applauded in our society we could all use a daily dose of the antithesis. We spend too much time reading, watching and listening to those with nothing unique to say, who do nothing of merit. I fall victim to this as much of anyone else, so I make sure to spend even more of my time learning from those who have broke the mold, thought the unthinkable and created things of substance. It is my goal to share these people with you and pass on any gems of wisdom that I come across. I hope that this blog is able to add some value to your life as these iconic people, places and things have added to mine. Enjoy.xx
