The Iconic Blog, Live a Life Less Ordinary
  • NYC

Last week I had the honor of attending a charity event at the NYSE.

The entire trading floor was turned into a party and it was unbelievable!

It was such a mind-blowing experience.

The food was fantastic and the place was filled!

    The mister thoroughly enjoyed himself.

I had to take care of business.

It was such a fantastic night.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending an incredible dinner party at the home of Kelley Moore and The Decorista.

The night started off with a bottle of bubbly while we waited for Camille, Erin, Lisa and Caitlin to arrive.

Kelley and Ashlina’s place is so fun and fabulous. The ultimate Manhattan bachlorette pad.

We enjoyed a divine antipasto course all fresh from Eataly.

The place settings and tablescape were nothing short of spectacular.

There is nothing like fine dining with a bunch of fabulous female entrepreneurs from all across the county.

It kind of gives a whole new meaning to the idea of Sunday night dinners, doesn’t it?

    Home by Novogratz Premiere

    July 14th, 2011

I was lucky enough to attend the new HGTV show premiere with the Decorista.

The party was at the fabulous Crosby Street Hotel in SoHo.

The decor was gorgeous and the perfect place to fete a new design show.

Mama Novogratz is a total doll. Make sure you check out the show when it airs later this month!

    Rosé and Rainbows

    July 13th, 2011

While preparing for a rooftop dinner with the girls, a storm rolled through out of nowhere.

It passed as quickly as it came, and left a perfectly arched rainbow.

The rainbow spanned Central Park with each side ending right where the park appeared to end.

    Cheers!

    The MET Party

A lovely evening spent at a lovely museum with lovely people.

Have I mentioned that I love living in this city?

    Met Rooftop Gala

    July 6th, 2011

Tonight is the MET’s Rooftop Party for Young Members. I have a new gown, a hot date, and my best girls attending. I couldn’t be more excited!

The whole museum is going to be open just for a select group to enjoy all the exhibits (including the Costume Institute’s Alexander McQueen!) and for us to get our groove on wherever we please.

I promise to take lots of photos and report back.xx

    Summer Nights on the Roof

Can’t think of many things that I love more.

What is your favorite thing about summer?

    Happy 4th from NYC

    July 5th, 2011

We spent a fabulous weekend with great friends in East Hampton and then came back into the city to watch the firework show from our rooftop.

The firework show in the city spanned 30 full city blocks along the Hudson and it was spectacular!

    How did you celebrate?

    Dinner at Per Se

    June 26th, 2011

You know that it is going to be a spectacular experience before you even walk through the front doors.

Per Se is nestled on one of the top floors of the Time Warner Building in Columbus Circle.

Here is the view. The Mister was looking particularly dapper that evening.

The meal started off with a delightful Spring pea soup with pockets of creme fraiche.

Next came some delicious vegetable cubes. I believe they were composed of leeks.

Then the buttered lobster on parsnip puree. Divine!

    And then the beef….

    And then the pork….

Then a savory cheese with cherries…

And then the dessert courses…A sweet berry trifle with crystallized fruit.

    A banana themed tasting…

    A chocolate caramel tasting…

And more…truffle and macarons and caramels..oh my!

The final serving was semi-freddo with homemade donuts.

I actually went to Per Se a few weeks ago and I’M STILL FULL!
