    Island Fever

    November 13th, 2011

Hello my lovelies! My sincerest apologies for the disappearing act. The Mister and I took a little island getaway with some friends for the past 10 days. We started out in Puerto Rico, where we enjoyed many a sunset on our beautiful rooftop and spent the days touring ancient fortresses along the sea.

After spending a few days there we set out on an island bender hitting St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, and St. Lucia. There were many beautiful beaches and a bit of jewelry shopping…

I even got a bit sporty and did some kayaking and crewed in a sailing race!

It was a great trip, but there is NO place like home and I missed my NYC!!

A design technique that I saw in several of the homes was a repeat use of fabric. The same fabric would be used on the drapes, the furniture….

    Even the on the walls!

    How gorgeous is that?!

I had never seen pattern on pattern like this before. I actually love the look of the use of the same fabric on the pillows and the furniture! It somehow makes a strong pattern look softer.

Even doing a little window focal point with matching drapes and benches.

Mary McDonald does it! I’m going to play with this idea in my bedroom. I’ll share photos as soon as I’m done!

    Newport, Rhode Island Getaway

    October 2nd, 2011

And I’m off for an early week excursion to the most fabulous of destinations: Newport, Rhode Island. I shall be touring palatial mansions, dining on the water and wearing outfits fit for a socialite.

Shall I share my adventures here on the blog??

    The Homes of Greenwich Harbor

    August 11th, 2011

During one of our days in Greenwich, we chartered a yacht and cruised around the harbor looking at all of the magnificent homes on the ocean.

    They were spectacular and HUGE!

    They featured all different styles…

    but were all utterly fabulous.

It was so much fun looking at them all and trying to choose a favorite!

    Which one do you love?

    A Weekend in Greenwich

    August 8th, 2011

I just got back from the loveliest weekend in Connecticut. Mornings were spent eating room service in fluffy white robes overlooking the harbor.

After massages we headed straight to the boat!

Afternoons were spent drifting at sea and enjoying views of all of the fabulous homes (more on those to come).

And the evenings were spent dining in Greenwich’s finest restaurants.

Now that is what I call a “restoring” weekend!

    Boating in Montauk

    July 23rd, 2011

There are few things that I enjoy more than being out on the water on a warm summer day.

The cool breeze, the sparkling water and plenty of gorgeous scenery.

We packed a delicious picnic and headed out to spend the afternoon at sea.

Colorful hulls set against the beautiful blue water.

    Sailboats in Sag Harbor.

A python surfboard. Only in East Hampton.

    Morning massages at Naturopathica.

Devouring the cover-to-cover fabulousness that is Hamptons Magazine.

Stacks and stacks of ice-cream sandwiches.

Early evening bike rides along the water.

    The Ultimate Girl Day

    May 22nd, 2011

Start in Saks 5th Avenue’s legendary shoe salon..

Stroll over to the next department and visit the chocolate cafe..

Indulge in a cup of hot chocolate…

And pick up some truffles for later.

Shoes + Chocolate + Pink = Girly Perfection.

    Summer in the Hamptons

    May 16th, 2011

Just found out today that two of my best girlfriends are joining our summer house in the Hamptons!

Summer can seriously not come fast enough now!

    I’ve stockpiled recipes for ice-cream sandwiches…

    …and delicious BBQ.

My kindle is loaded with great beach reads and I am SO ready.x

What/where is your favorite summer retreat?

I have been dreaming about going to this for years and now that I am NYC based all I have to do is hop on a ferry!

I am getting together a group of fabulous friends to enjoy all things posh and preppy.

It’s it weird that I kind of want to frame this? Great design, no?
