The Cours Saleya in Nice, France
June 7th, 2010One of my favorite things about summer is visiting farmer’s markets. Today I would like to share with you my favorite farmer’s market of all time in Nice, France.
The Cours Saleya is located a mere block from the beach and historic promenade in Nice. It is open everyday from about 7am to 10am.
This market offers all things delectable and pretty. A majority of the items are from Provence, which is just so much more glam than getting your produce from Florida.
In true French form, everything is perfectly merchandised. The whole sensory experience is so overwhelmingly wonderful.
I loved the way they displayed all of the spices. I was so upset that I was without a kitchen on this trip. I wanted an excuse to purchase without having to consider traveling limitations.
There were such unique syrups and marmalades. I couldn’t leave without purchasing both rose and violet extracts to infuse panna cotta and beverages with.
And my vice, handmade soaps from Marsielle.
There were also tables filled with lavender and herbs de Provence, straight from the fields of Provence. Le sigh.
Oh yes, and the most spectacular flower selection. The peonies were to die for!
Where is your favorite farmer’s market?

There’s one in Atlanta that’s during the summer. I love the soaps there too!
